The course of a typical tandem skydive

One of your most memorable days begins with your arrival at the airport where you will perform your tandem skydive. Instructions and the locations where we perform tandem jumps can be found through our interactive map or by direct contact.

If you've chosen the option of transportation to the dropzone with our vehicle, it's likely that we will be on the road in the morning hours, but don't worry, since most airports have facilities which will ensure you have a good time. If you decide to come with your own vehicle, you may can arrive at the time specified during booking.

MEETING THE TEAM AND TANDEM INSTRUCTOR.

After arriving at the airport, it's time to meet the team that will take you through the organization and execution of your jump. The team consists of the ground crew, tandem instructors, air cameramen, as well as the rest of the candidates that have come to experience their first skydiving experience.

PAPERWORK AND DOCUMENT FILING

After meeting everyone, it's time to fill out the necessary paperwork. They include club membership documents, as well as a signed declaration that you are voluntarily participating in tandem skydiving. Having done this, we go on to your brief training.

BRIEF TRAINING ON TANDEM PROCEDURES AND TECHNIQUES

The training that is required prior to the tandem skydive takes approximately 15 minutes, during which you'll be informed of everything that is important for a tandem jump. The main principles consist of exiting the aircraft, body position during freefall, opening of the parachute, landing and the characteristics of a tandem parachute and equipment.

GEAR UP FOR TANDEM SKYDIVE

At this stage we choose a suit for you, adapt the harness system which will be buckled to the tandem instructor, and hand you gloves, a helmet, goggles etc.

ENTERING THE AIRCRAFT AND TAKE-OFF

Once you've been prepared and checked by your tandem instructor, it's time to enter the aircraft. At this time you're already feeling your hear beat faster in anticipation of one of the most intense and exciting experiences you'll have in your life. Upon entering the aircraft, the tandem instructor will once again demonstrate for you how to exit the aircraft, procedures during freefall, and take you to your seat in the aircraft.

FLIGHT TO JUMP ALTITUDE

The airplane flight to the jump altitude offers you the additional experience of witnessing a panorama of the landscape over which you will perform your first tandem skydive and freefall.

JUMP FROM A PERFECTLY GOOD AIRCRAFT

Finally, the moment has arrived. The aircraft door opens and you feel the fresh air blow throughout the plane. Now, it's time to go to the door, where your instructor will adjust your body position for the jump. The view towards the surface of the Earth 4,000 meters away will certainly blow your mind. At this moment, your instructor begins his countdown: 3, 2, 1, GOooooo!

FREEFALL

You've just left a perfectly good airplane, and you are in freefall. For the first time in your life, your body is freefalling through the air, gradually accelerating to 220 km/h. The landscape you see is one of the most impressive you'll ever see. Your time spent in freefall is up to 60 seconds, followed by the parachute opening.

PARACHUTE OPENING

At one moment, you will feel something like sudden braking and realize that this is the parachute that's opening. This is the correct moment to shout loudly and express the emotions you've just experienced. But this isn't the end. After opening the parachute, it's time for another very exciting segment of the tandem skydive, and that is paragliding, or parachute flight.

PARAGLIDING OR PARACHUTE FLIGHT

Paragliding or parachute flight can take between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on your preference of a more extreme flight with a series of different maneuvers, or a relaxing panorama sightseeing flight. Since the speed of the flight under the parachute is much less than the freefall, you will be able to talk with your tandem instructor. Your tandem instructor will also allow you to steer with the parachute toggles. When the parachute flight is almost over, it's time to get ready....

LANDING THE PARACHUTE

At a height of approx. 100 meters, we begin preparing for landing. During the short training session prior to the tandem skydive you will be informed of all landing instructions and procedures. At the tandem instructor's command of “LEGS UP”, you will lift both your legs, keeping them together, straight and with your toes pointed up. To make it easier, we recommend helping yourself by pulling your legs by your knees with your hands. In this position, the tandem pair lands on the instructor's legs. After the successful skydive, the tandem instructor or our ground team will help you take off your skydiving equipment and harness system.

CERTIFICATE FOR SUCCESSFULLY PERFORMED TANDEM SKYDIVE

Like after every big event or achievement in your life, you will receive a certificate for successfully completing a parachute jump which you will be able to show your friends and family, or put it on your wall of achievements. Besides the certificate, you will receive a parachute jump logbook where your parachute jump will be registered and verified.

THE END?

We like to say that this is just the beginning. Many candidates who try and experience a tandem skydive end up on a standard skydiving course in a skydiving training center. Among them, we recomment the skydiving training center of Skydiving Club Croatia, which is one of the largest and highest quality skydiving centers in Croatia.

Up to 4000 meters on your first jump

In a standard skydiving course, students make their first ten parachute jumps from an altitude of 1,000 meters during which they will not experience freefall. In a tandem skydive, your first jump will be performed at an altitude of up to 4,000 meters and you will experience up to 60 seconds in freefall.

No medical examination

The biggest advantage of tandem skydiving is that you do not need to pass a medical exam. If you have any questions regarding health conditions and tandem skydiving, please contact us and we will be pleased to advise you.

Only 10 minutes jump briefing

Unlike a standard skydiving course which can last up to several weeks, before performing a tandem skydive all you need is to pass a short 15-minute briefing during which your tandem instructor will explain the basic principles of skydiving.

Several Skydiving locations

Tandem Experts offer several locations to experience your first tandem skydive. You can choose between locations in Croatia and Slovenia. We are organizing tandem skydiving in Zagreb and Varaždin in Croatia and Ljubljana and Maribor in Slovenia
